US Air Force Files A Trademark Application For Spaceverse

As per Mike Kondoudis (a certified trademark attorney), a trademark application has been submitted on the behalf of the US Air Force. On 19th April, in a Twitter post, it was reported by the trademark expert that the idea fortifies digital, physical, space, and terrestrial realities. In addition to this, it will offer enhanced reality testing, training as well as activity environments. The respective application was submitted under the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) on 14th April this year.

The space verse

The minutes of this project are insufficient at present, however, the description given by USPTO asserts that the position of Spaceverse would be that of a safe digital metaverse.  In this project, the training, testing, and digital environment would be incorporated for the pilots from the USAF along with being a secure system.

It was ambiguous if the USSF (the United States Space Force) – which is a space subdivision of the United States Armed Forces – would have a connection with the Spaceverse. The military service of the USSF was established three years back in 2019 to form, train, as well as provide the space forces with appropriate equipment to shield the allied as well as the internal interests of the United States in space.

The sum of the applications submitted for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as well as the metaverse has mounted to a considerable extent during approximately the previous six months. in the last year, it was reported on the behalf of the USPTO that nearly 1,263 applications related to the non-fungible token trademarks (which is considered to be almost 421 times above 2022) have been submitted.

Apart from the mystery Spaceforce-based trademark application of the USAF, as reported by Kondoudis, the CBOE (Chicago Board Options Exchange) submitted a trademark application on the very day for CBOE DIGITAL. The prominent trading venue as well as the exchange intends to have trademark facilities for the digital assets, crypto exchanges, as well as marketplaces backed by NFTs, as per the submission.

Escalation in trademark applications for the metaverse

The USAF has shaken hands with a series of firms pursuing trademarks for patents dealing with the metaverse. Among the latest is Anheuser-Busch with a submission for the unique Budverse-related trademark applications. The company is moving toward the NFT-supported media, augmented reality, as well as the metaverse-related marketplaces for NFT products taking into account the series of beverages such as Michelob, Stella Artois, and Budweiser.
